Antalya by charter: what to know before you fly

How the charter works

A charter is a flight organised for the holiday season on fixed days of the week, usually as a rotation: the aircraft that takes travellers out brings the previous group home. You can book a return trip or a single flight, and you choose a fare package that sets what is included, such as checked baggage.

The flight is performed by a licensed air carrier named on your booking and ticket. Seats are sold until the aircraft is full, and prices rise as it fills, so earlier bookings are usually cheaper.

Passport and entry to Turkey

• Citizens of North Macedonia travel to Turkey with a passport. An ID card is not accepted.
• No visa is needed for tourist stays of up to 90 days within any 180 days.
• Turkey expects the passport to be valid for at least 60 days after the end of the permitted stay. We recommend at least six months of validity on the day you travel.
• Children and infants need their own passport. A child travelling without both parents should carry a notarised consent from the parent or parents who are not travelling.
• Citizens of other countries, and holders of travel documents other than a regular passport, must check the rules with a Turkish embassy or consulate before booking.

Before you leave home

• Check in online under Manage booking and download your boarding pass.
• Check the flight time on the day before you fly; charter times can move.
• Take out travel health insurance. The health card from North Macedonia does not cover private clinics and hotel doctors in Turkey, and treatment without insurance is expensive.
• Residents of North Macedonia may take up to 2,000 euro in cash out of the country without documents, and up to 10,000 euro with a bank or exchange office confirmation. Check the current rules with the Customs Administration before you travel with larger amounts.
• Keep medicines in their original packaging in your hand baggage, with the prescription for anything that needs one.

At the departure airport

• Be at the airport at least 2 hours before departure.
• Check-in desks and bag drop close 40 minutes before departure, and the gate closes 20 minutes before departure.
• Liquids in hand baggage must be in containers of up to 100 ml, together in one clear resealable bag of up to one litre. Power banks and spare batteries travel in hand baggage only.

Arriving in Antalya

After landing you pass passport control, collect your bags and go through customs. If a bag is missing or damaged, report it at the baggage desk before you leave the hall and keep the report.

Approximate driving times from Antalya Airport: Lara 20 minutes, Antalya city 25 minutes, Belek 40 minutes, Kemer one hour, Side one hour, Alanya two hours. If your package or tour operator includes a transfer, the representative waits outside the arrivals hall with a sign.

The flight home

• Check the return time on the day before; your tour operator or hotel reception will also be told the pick-up time.
• Antalya Airport is busy in summer and has a security check at the terminal entrance as well as after check-in. Arrive at least three hours before departure.
• Turkey limits the export of antiques and cultural objects; buy such items only with a receipt and a certificate from the seller.

If plans change

You can cancel up to 48 hours before departure for travel credit, correct a name free of charge or ask for another date. If the flight is cancelled by us or the carrier, you choose between another flight and your money back. See the refund & credit policy and the general travel conditions.
